IS YOUR FAMILIES HEALTH AND HOME AT RISK???

O.K. Now that you have decided to Spray Foam your home, lets talk about  another important topic.

Today's homes are so well-insulated they are practically airtight. Stale air is trapped inside, leaving your family and home vulnerable to unwanted air pollutants. These intruders can cause all kinds of problems to your health and to the structural integrity of  your home.

It is important to understand the risks of  living in a poorly ventilated home. Your furnace, air conditioner, heat pump or air purifier only recirculate stale indoor air, keeping odors, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and other chemical pollutants free to circulate in your home. They do not allow your home to breathe fresh air!

Simple day to day activities like taking hot showers or doing the dishes release moisture into the air. If  this moisture cannot escape it will build up, which over time can lead to mold growth, mildew, unpleasant odors and costly structural damage, often in places that we only see when it's too late. Studies show that more than 50% of all homes show signs of high basement humidity. Clearly, proper ventilation is a key element to control excess humidity levels and to protect your family and home from the ill effects of moisture damage.

Ongoing exposure to indoor air contaminants and allergens, such as dust, dust mites, pet dander, fumes from smoking, cleaning products, household chemicals, and VOC can lead to a variety of symptoms ranging from headaches and chronic fatigue, to eye, nose and throat irritation. They can also aggravate asthma, allergies and othe respiratory conditions. Helping protect your family from the health risks due to poor indoor air quality is simple when you properly ventilate and filtrate your home with a Venmar AVS air exchanger. It's time you and your home breathe fresh air.

REVITALIZE THE AIR IN YOUR HOME

In today's energy efficient homes, indoor pollutants and air borne contaminants can't escape. Fortunately there is a solution. Heat Recovery Ventilation systems, HRV's, are a great way to eliminate the undesirable air and replace it with fresh air from outside. With simple to use controls, you can determine the amount of fresh air you want and the time you want it. In addition to controlling your indoor air quality, you can save energy. During the ventilation process, the stale air that is exhausted from your home passes through a heat exchanger. The fresh air coming into the home passes through the heat exchanger in the opposite direction and absorbs the heat energy from the stale air leaving the home. This process can recover up to 90% of the energy from the stale air without the two air streams mixing, so all of the pollutants are exhausted from the home. This energy saving process works in winter and summer alike. HRV system can also be put to another use -- bathroom ventilation. Instead of installing a noisy bath fan in each bathroom, an HRV duct can be run to each location. A push button timer is then installed in the bathroom to allow the occupant to remotely control the HRV operation. While the odor and humidity is being exhausted the HRV is at work capturing the energy from the air that would otherwise be wasted by a traditional bath fan. HRV systems allow you to build your home tight to save energy and put you in control of your indoor air quality.

Venmar AVS units employ advanced technology to efficiently expel excess humidity and stale indoor air and replace it with a continuous supply of  fresh outdoor air. Only an air exchanger can perform this task. They also help reduce gaseous pollutants, such as household chemicals, fumes, VOC and unpleasant odors. Their unique energy or heat recovery device (ERV or HRV) is specially designed to perform in any climate, allowing year round ventilation, air exchange and improved energy efficiency. Venmar AVS units can be installed with multiple air intake and air exhaust grilles so they can revitalize every corner of your home; not just selected areas. All Venmar AVS units can easily be integrated with your home's existing forced-air system or be installed independently. Whatever your requirements, Venmar AVS has the solution you need to help protect your family from silent health hazards and your home from harmful excess humidity.
